Implementing Accommodations

Activating Academic Accommodations

Each semester, students enrolled in courses must activate their accommodations for each class they intend to utilize specific accommodations in. This process lets the Goldman Center know that you are enrolled this semester and intend to use your accommodations. The student is solely responsible for activating their approved accommodations; professors do not know how to provide access for you if you do not activate your accommodations.

Once you have submitted your activation requests, the Goldman Center will send emails to each of the professors in the classes where you have elected to use your accommodations.

***Students in the School of Law do not need to activate accommodations. Accommodations are handled internally by the Dean of Students and Director of Student Success.***

Scheduling Accommodated Exams

NTC Students and graduate students in select programs* should schedule their accommodated exams in the Goldman Testing Center following the guidance linked below.

*Generally speaking, students housed at the Downtown campus are accommodated by their program. Please consult with your program coordinator. Students in the School of Law will have specific information about their accommodated exams communicated by the School of Law.

Academic Accommodations Requiring Coordination

Students with academic accommodations which require coordination, such as certain notetaking, communication access, and alternative format requests, should monitor their Tulane email for additional instructions on these accommodations.

Housing and Dining Accommodations

For students with approved accommodations in housing and dining, specific approval has been communicated to these departments. Students do not need to re-activate these accommodations every semester.
